Mistake #1: One generic 'services' page targeting 'solicitor'

Conveyancing, family law, personal injury, wills & probate, employment, commercial property — each is a different client with different urgency and budget. A single services page targets none properly. Modern firms publish a landing page per practice area per city.

Mistake #2: Hiding SRA registration in the footer

Solicitors Regulation Authority registration is the legal trust mark UK clients verify. Most firms bury it in the footer copyright line — the lowest-attention zone on any page.

The fix: Display the SRA digital badge with your verification ID above the fold. Link to your public SRA profile so prospects can verify. Trust closes legal sales 60% faster.

Mistake #3: No fixed-fee pricing

Conveyancing, simple wills, undefended divorce, basic LPAs — these can all be quoted as fixed fees. Hiding them costs you leads to the firm down the road that publishes 'remortgage £495' on their homepage.

The fix: Build a fixed-fee page with transparent pricing per service. Use Service + Offer schema with priceRange. Customers who can afford you get filtered in, the price-shoppers self-select out.

Mistake #4: Missing Lexcel and CQS badges

Lexcel = Law Society practice-management standard. CQS = Law Society Conveyancing Quality Scheme. Both are recognised consumer trust marks, especially for property work. Hiding them is leaving money on the table.

The fix: Display both badges plus the year you first earned them. Most firms have one or both — show them.

Mistake #5: Generic 'Meet the Team' page

Clients want to know which solicitor will handle their case. A generic team page converts at half the rate of individual practitioner profiles.

The fix: Build a profile page per solicitor: name, photo, year qualified, specialism, languages spoken, notable cases. Use Person schema. Clients book by name, not firm.

Mistake #6: No 'how conveyancing works' guide

Property buyers Google 'how does conveyancing work' before they pick a firm. A clear step-by-step guide ranks easily and builds trust — both at once.

The fix: Build a guide page walking through offer accepted → searches → mortgage offer → exchange → completion. Add HowTo schema. Captures top-of-funnel intent.

Mistake #7: Missing LegalService + FAQ schema

Schema.org's LegalService markup with priceRange + areaServed triggers Google legal rich results. Combined with FAQPage and Person schema, you surface in AI Overviews above competitors.
