The 7 SEO mistakes UK aesthetic clinics make on their websites.

We've audited hundreds of UK aesthetic clinics websites. The same seven mistakes show up every time. Fixing them is the difference between a site that sits idle and one that puts booked work on your calendar.

Written by Jake Perry, founder of DigiSurf Agency. Jump to our aesthetic clinics marketing service for the done-for-you version, or pick your city: London, Manchester, Birmingham, Leeds, Bristol or 100+ more.

Mistake #1: Targeting generic 'aesthetic clinic' instead of treatment + city

Most clinics try to rank for 'aesthetic clinic {city}'. The customers booking £500 Botox or £3,000 filler are searching by treatment — 'Botox {city}', 'lip filler {city}', 'tear trough filler {city}'. Generic pages win nothing.

The fix: Build a dedicated landing page per treatment per city. Each treatment is a different commercial search with different price expectations. See Aesthetic Clinics London.

Mistake #2: No Save Face or JCCP registration shown

Save Face is the UK consumer register for medically-qualified injectors. JCCP is the joint council. Both are the trust marks customers verify before booking. Hide them and you lose to clinics that don't.

The fix: Display Save Face and JCCP badges above the fold. List the registered practitioners by name + regulator number (GMC for doctors, NMC for nurses, GDC for dentists).

Mistake #3: Stock-photo before/afters

JCCP code permits before/afters with explicit consent. Stock photos of model faces convert nothing. Real cases convert.

The fix: Get model-release consent forms signed. Show real cases with the practitioner's name, the treatment, the timeline (e.g. 'before / 2 weeks post / 4 weeks post'). Trust signal #1 in aesthetics.

Mistake #4: Missing pharmacy supplier information

Clients want to know what's in their face. Allergan Botox, Juvederm, Restylane, Profhilo — show the brand and the pharmacy supplier (Healthxchange, Church Pharmacy etc.). Trust signal #2.

The fix: Build a 'products and brands' page. List every product used by name. Include batch traceability if you can. Differentiates you from the dodgy mobile injectors.

Mistake #5: No 'what to expect at consultation' page

First-time injectable customers are nervous. They Google 'what happens at Botox consultation'. A clear walkthrough page wins the booking from the customer who's been put off elsewhere.

The fix: Build a consultation guide page. Cover the medical-history form, treatment plan, cooling-off period, payment options, aftercare. Reassures and converts.

Mistake #6: No deposit policy = high no-show rate

Aesthetic consultations no-show at ~18% without deposits, ~3% with. The cost of no-shows is destroying clinic margins.

The fix: Take a £50-100 deposit at booking. Frame it as 'secures your slot, redeemable against treatment'. Drops no-shows 80%, frees up consultation slots for real customers.

Mistake #7: Missing MedicalProcedure + FAQ schema

Schema.org's MedicalProcedure + HealthcareService markup with areaServed and offers triggers Google's medical rich results. Combined with FAQPage you surface in AI Overviews.

The fix: Add MedicalProcedure schema for each treatment, HealthcareService for the clinic, FAQPage for common questions. We build it in by default — see industries/aesthetic-clinics.
